It was July 26, 1971 when the Apollo 15 mission took flight and became the longest duration stay on the lunar surface among the NASA’s six mission to land on the moon. To commemorate this special event in space navigation, Omega has created the Speedmaster Moonwatch “Apollo 15” 40th anniversary limited edition. This classical moonwatch has polished and brushed stainless steel case and bracelet, a black aluminium ring with a tachymeter scale on the bezel and a domed shatterproof hesalite crystal. Limited to 1,971 pieces, the watch is embossed with an image of the Lunar Rover and the wording “Apollo 15” and “40th anniversary” at the caseback and beats to the movement of the classic Omega calibre 1861, the same movement that equips the legendary Speedmaster Professional.
